Business in the Spotlight: Bring and Braai Catering

May 29, 2019

Worldwide’s World Guide is as proudly South African as a proper bring and braai. Here you can find almost everything you need to lessen the longing for home, even a catering company that brings a braai feast to your special occasion. This week’s business in the spotlight is Bring and Braai Catering in the UK.

Bring & Braai offers a unique mobile braai (BBQ) service at your venue of choice, catering for any occasion or event.

A braai is a traditional way of life for South Africans, an experience in itself. In South Africa, “bring and braai” means an invitation to a social gathering to celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends. The host would have the fire lit and the good times then take place around the fire while braaiing the food, tongs in one hand and an ice-cold beer in the other.

The two brains behind Bring & Braai both grew up in South Africa, Rodney in Kloof just outside of Durban and Mark in Port Elizabeth. Both being avid foodies and having attended and experienced many braais, they decided to share the experience in the UK. It all began in 2009 and along the way they have catered for many private parties at homes and venues around London and the surrounding counties, celebrating birthdays, weddings and charity events, as well as for the UK’s largest blue-chip companies.

Bring & Braai uses traditional methods. They braai over an open fire and use a mixture of proper, imported African hardwoods to smoke and enhance the flavour of the various meats. The unique style and cuisine made Bring & Braai a runaway success, and they have recently been voted into the Top 5 African Caterers in London.

Bring & Braai’s ideas are simple.

  • They have a menu to suit all taste buds, budgets and occasions. Don’t worry about the kids – if they are under 10, they eat at half price.
  • They arrive, set up, and braai a feast for you and your family and friends.
  • When all your guests have been fed to their heart’s content, and you are completely satisfied, they clean up, pack up and leave.

Bring & Braai always provides the freshest and best quality locally sourced meat as well as a great and friendly service. For your peace of mind, they have all the relevant food hygiene, health and safety documents and insurance certificates, and will email it to you at any time.
