Jan Braai vir Erfenis – Season 7

Jul 18, 2017

Bring the braai wood and seasoning, light the fire and prepare for action. Jan Braai vir Erfenis is back for a seventh season of meat on the grill that will make your mouth water. This season Jan visits interesting places such as the Timbavati Game Reserve, the Overberg, Oranjemund in Namibia and Moditlo in the Bushveld. Jan even goes as far as Amsterdam to see how the Dutch celebrate King’s Day.

It’s not as if it’s hard to get people to want to braai, but in season 7 Jan really goes out of his way. There’s the Tour de Braai, a cycle tour from George all along the Buffeljags River. Jan and 25 cyclists take to the road and find the best spots to braai along the way. They stop in Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp, Van Wyksdorp and Riversdale. The European leg of this season’s braai tour takes Jan from Amsterdam to Geraardsbergen and Brussels in Belgium, where he dines on all kinds of local fare and braais in strange places.

Of course this season also features a variety of delicious braai recipes that Jan will share with his viewers: Imagine a T-bone steak with mustard ice cream, steak in a biltong crust and even a coffee steak. You’ll also learn how to make steak espetadas on the braai, which type of port goes best with a braai, as well as how to make the tastiest Marmite-and-cheese sauce for your braai meat. In one episode an expert demonstrates how to debone a whole sheep, and during a visit to the Klein River cheese farm you’ll be taught how to prepare the mother of all braai toasties.

If you are thus tired of the boring braais in your backyard, accompany Jan Braai on his journey as he finds exotic braai spots that will once again inspire you to get original and creative when you light your fire. ShowMax, your braai inspiration!
