Mathys Roets in Australia and New-Zealand

Jul 20, 2018

Mathys Roets is a well-known and beloved South African singer. He started his music career in 1989 when he sang with his guitar in hand in a shopping mall in Pretoria for tips. In 1996 he made an important breakthrough with his debut production at the KKNK. In this performance, Nokturne, he sang the music of Koos du Plessis. It suited Mathys’s dark, velvet voice like a glove. Mathys has become famous for his soulful interpretation of the world’s most beautiful ballads, especially the music of Leonard Cohen, Roger Whittaker and Neil Diamond. In 2009, Mathys was involved in an accident that changed his life forever.
