What’s new on Showmax: Dis koue kos, skat

Mar 15, 2018

Dis koue kos, skat is a romantic comedy with a massive, warm heart. From 12 March, ShowMax subscribers living outside South Africa can sit back and enjoy this deliciously entertaining film. The movie is based on Marita van der Vyver’s bestselling novel and Anna-Mart van der Merwe plays Clara Brand, a woman whose husband (Deon Lotz) leaves her for her much younger colleague and friend (Angelique Gerber). In the aftermath of the divorce, Clara rediscovers her love for food and eventually she meets Ari (Frank Opperman), who cooks with as much abandon as she does – and then things get spicy! Director Etienne Fourie (Die windpomp, Liewe Kersfeesvader) adapted the book with Marita van der Vyver, and the actors deliver stellar performances with his guidance. Elzabé Zietsman is hilarious as Clara’s best friend Minette, and Bouwer Bosch and Riaan Visman also bring comic relief. This is a world class film, comparable to hits like Love, Actually and Notting Hill. It’ll make you believe in love again – and make you crave a hearty meal!
